What is Ciao Salemi?
Ciao Salemi is a not-for-profit initiative to grow the town of Salemi, Sicily by attracting a new wave of creatives and digital nomads.
A New Initiative
In the coming 5 years, the town of Salemi, Italy, will be transformed into one of the Mediterranean's most popular creative hubs.
Ciao Salemi is a sister project of Salemi Ceramics, a ceramics school that has recently opened in the town of Salemi.
Join in for a week-long course at the ceramics school, or just come and enjoy the coworking space while participating in the life of the town.
Come Join Our Small, But Growing Community
Salemi - 'the eye of Sicily' - is the perfect place to base yourself for a long stay in Western Sicily. We are building the seeds of a creative community, with a Ceramics School, a coworking spot, co-living accommodation, and regular community events.

- Start your own business - we are working on a 'Business Landing Program' set to start
- Buy a local house or apartment (we can point you to the right people)
- Or simply, just come and spend some time enjoying the atmosphere.
Why Salemi?
Salemi is a beautiful hill-top town located in Western Sicily.
The people here are friendly, the climate is warm, and the food is good. However, that's not enough. Salemi's historical centre has been gradually losing its life as businesses close and young people move away.
We're here to change that. Salemi's old town is one of the most beautiful in Western Sicily and is the perfect place to start building a community of creative people who want to be part of a project that offers positive change.

Ciao Salemi is a not-for-profit project started by Mat & Rebeca Newton, the founders of Leatherback Travel - an adventure company specialised in bringing groups of travellers to off the beaten places.
